About

Dr. Prakash Promod BDS, MBBS (Lond), MFDS RCPS (Glasg)
Medical Director

Prakash Promod is the Medical Director of Lumière Medical Aesthetics. He is a qualified doctor and dentist trained in maxillofacial and plastic surgery. His skills range from oral surgery, advanced dental implant surgery and bone grafting to complex facial reconstruction after skin cancer and trauma.

He has always been interested in facial reconstructive and cosmetic surgery. It’s a journey that has led him on a training pathway of almost two decades. Starting with a degree in dentistry, he then went on to train in some of the finest surgical units in the UK and abroad. He earned his MBBS from St Bartholomew's and The Royal London Hospital and also holds the MFDS RCPS membership with The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. He is fully registered with both the General Medical Council and General Dental Council.

He started his journey into the world of minimally invasive aesthetic medicine with the simple philosophy: maximum results, minimum downtime. Having spent many years working in the NHS and dealing with everything from facial trauma to cancer he learned the intricate working of the face and jaws and has learned how to combine different techniques to achieve the best possible outcomes.

In 2023, Prakash established Alban City Dental & Surgical Centre as a new, state-of-the-art private dental practice and surgical centre, in the heart of St Albans, Hertfordshire. Lumière Medical Aesthetics now operates out of this location.

“I believe that having a medical, dental and surgical background in soft and hard tissue (skin and bone) surgery, as well as experience in aesthetic medicine, has given me a deeper understanding of how to achieve natural looking results and what is possible through both surgical and non-surgical techniques," says Prakash.

He has done everything from cosmetic dentistry and full-mouth rehabilitation with dental implants, to fixing broken hips and jaws, cancer surgery and reconstruction and Botox and fillers. He is well published in the international literature and has presented at several international surgical conferences.

In his spare time, he enjoys cycling, playing the guitar and leading worship with his teenage daughter at their local church. He also serves as a parent Governor at his son's primary school in St. Albans.
